Randall “Red” Johnson, 75, of Sioux Falls, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2023, at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory, Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2023, also at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation to the DAV.

Eleanor lived on the family farm through high school, at which time she attended Mankato State University. She majored in Physical Education with a minor in English. After graduating from Mankato State, she taught for a year in Iowa, a year in Glenville, MN and two years at Austin Jr. High in Galveston, TX. She then moved to Wagner in January of 1969 and worked in the Wagner School System as their Librarian. At that time, she simultaneously took courses toward a degree in Library Science from the college in Springfield.

Read moreThis week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Claire Johnson. Claire is the daughter of Brian and Katherine Johnson. She has four siblings Alex Evans, Joey Evans, Baylee Johnson and AJ Johnson. During her high school years, Claire has been involved in volleyball, basketball, track, FCCLA and All-State Choir. Claire has been very active in the community. For community service, she has been a CCD youth group teacher for the 4th and 5th graders, filled sandbags for Lake Andes during the flood, mentored elementary students, and has helped load cars for Feeding South Dakota. Thanksgiving dinner is Claire’s favorite school lunch and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Maynard. Mrs. Maynard teaches anatomy and Claire really enjoyed the class because Mrs. Maynard always kept it exciting and interesting with all of the fun classroom activities.
