FRANCES JANDREAU

Frances Rose Jandreau, 39, of Vermillion died Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 2 at the YST South Housing Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Frances Rose Jandreau, aka Sissy was born September 21, 1984 to Frank Jandreau Jr. and Agnes Franklin in Wagner. Frances went to Job Corp in Nemo and received her GED. On January 1, 2005 her first born Zaden Jandreau was born. She also had Patrick Jr., Jazzy, Addy and Nova Lynn. Sissy loved being a mother. She worked numerous jobs and always made sure her family was well taken care of. She loved going to pow wows as she used to dance in her younger years. In 20002001, Sissy’s Uncle Pernal Necklace taught her our traditional ways. She traveled with her uncle and cousins to many pow wows. He taught her to wear a blanket out in public. Through the years, Sissy’s parents held church revivals. Pastor Allen and Harriet Walker adopted Sissy. Before she fell ill, she was getting ready to leave for Canada to be with Pastor Allen and Harriet. In the last days, Sissy used to listen to their music to help her get through her pain. Sissy had a sense of humor and could always be found laughing with family and friends.

Sissy leaves to mourn her five children; Zaden Jandreau, Patrick Jr., Jazzy, Addy and Nova Lynn Returns To War; her beautiful mother Agnes Franklin; sisters: Clarissa (Jay) Fallis, Valerie Jandreau and Agnes Franklin of Sioux Falls; brothers Frank Jandreau Jr III of Yankton and Tyson Jandreau of Vermillion; many nieces, nephews and two grandchildren Bryan and Star Sierra.

Sissy was welcome home with open arms by her maternal grandparents Josiah and Jenny Franklin; paternal grandparents Frank Jandreau Sr. and Eleanor Jandreau; her father Frank Jandreau Jr.; and brother Randy Franklin.
