The wrestlers made the trip to Sioux Falls for the State WrestlingTournament.Going into this tournament I felt they were all ready to go and had prepared the right way. It was all about showing up and putting together the best matches oftheyear.Overthethreedays of wrestling it was a long and emotional grind, it takes a lot to keep your head on straight and stay focused. All of the wrestlershandledthepressure well and wrestled hard. They all should be proud of the season that they had, with some falling short of their goals they need to keep their heads high and start working for the next season. Congratulations to Peyton and Britney on their State Titles. These girls are hard workers and the dedication they have for this sport is something special to be a part of. The seniors of the group Jackson Caba placing 5th and TylerTjeerdsma6th.Thesetwo guys had a solid tournament and I felt they put together a few of the best matches of the season wrestling some of the top guys in the State. These guys have been a staple to this program and have nothing to hang their heads about. These guys will be missed and have been great leaders for all the youngguystolookupto.Thank you for all you have done for thisprogram,itwasaprivilege sitting in your corner. Withfourmedalists,theBon Homme/Scotland/Avon girls scored 69 points for seventh place at the Girls State Wrestling TournamentonFebruary 22-24 in Sioux Falls. Britney Rueb and Peyton Hellmann stood on the top step and Hadley Kracht and Ashley Tolsma both placed eighth.

National School Board recognition week is February 20th -24th. It is a time when the community, Wagner school, staff and parents can take the time to thank the members of the Wagner Community School Board for their time and dedication to make their school a better place. The Wagner School Board has seven members: Chad Kreeger, Patrick Breen, Jay Kokes, Jamie Tjeerdsma, Derrick Marks, Daniel Dion, and Danielle Krcil. A well-deserved thank you and recognition for their service is in order for the school board members.
