Longtime local resident Tammy Thornton was elected Wagner’s mayor in April and started her duties on May 1st. Thornton will serve a two-year term and is excited for the opportunity. She has spent her whole life in the area and the community means a lot to her.

On Thursday, April 27, the Wagner track and field team participated in the First Dakota Relays in Yankton. This was a bit of a different meet for us as there were a vast array of schools who we don’t typically compete against. You had AA schools Brookings and Huron along with the hosts from Yankton. A schools from Sioux Falls Christian, Vermillion, Dakota Valley, amongst others. And B schools from Deubrook and Gayeville-Volin. Team scores were not kept at this meet.

President Pro Temp Bryan Slaba brought the Wagner Rotary Club to order on April 26, 2023, once again. Pastor/Rotarian Bill Heermann gave thanks for the weather, food, and fellowship. There was one guest present, Gavin Weber son of Rotarian Jerry Weber.
