The July 19th meeting of the Wagner Rotary Club began with President Becky Brunsing giving the rotary bell a whack and producing a weak tone. Rotarian / Pastor Bill Heermann offered up thanks for the rainy day, prayers for consolation on those we have lost, and the food.
Read moreAmerican Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on July 20, 2023 with 26 members and two guests in attendance. John Crisman introduced his guest, Pastor Rydel Samuelson. Pastor Samuelson is the new pastor at the Methodist church here in Wagner and hails originally from Mandan, ND. Commander Rados introduced his sister, JoAnn Ishmael who was visiting from Illinois. Commander Clayton Rados then thanked the cooks for the delicious meal. Chaplain Don Kotab gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.

Mel is one of the most encouraging, caring, supportive coaches and humans I know. You will always see Mel at the finish line cheering on her team and she is always right there with a big hug to let them know they did their best. She celebrates every win or loss! Mel truly loves swimming, and you can see her passion at every practice and meet. Every swimmer knows she believes in them and because of that their own confidence grows. Even the most anxious, nervous swimmer builds confidence because of her. Positive, passionate, silly, humble, dedicated, energetic, encouraging, self-sacrificing, and teasing are some of the words the swimmers use to describe Mel, and I think those words fit her to a tee!
