MARGARET GILREATH

Margaret Marie Gilreath, 90, died at Mullen Home, Little Sisters of the Poor in Denver, CO on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Funeral service were Saturday, September 17 at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Lake Andes with burial following in Lakeview Cemetery in Lake Andes. Margaret was born on her grandparents farm just outside of Wagner on July 23, 1932. Margaret went to heaven peacefully on September 4, 2022 at Mullen Home, Little Sisters of the Poor following a stroke placing her into hospice.

EVA AQUASH

Eva died Saturday, September 3, 2022 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Tuesday, September 6, at the Greenwood Community Center in Greenwood. Burial was in St Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Faye died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Funeral services were Saturday, September 17, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Rotary News

President Rachel Woods rang the Rotary Bell on Wednesday, September 14th for our Noon Meeting. She introduced one guest, Amy Yost, wife of Superintendent Max Yost who was her program. Rotarian Bill Heermann offered up a prayer for the beautiful day, our food, and for help for our Rotarians to go about helping and pleasing others in our Wagner Community.

Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on September 15th, 2022 at the Post Home with 24 members in attendance. Commander Clayton Rados thanked the cooks for the delicious meal. Guests in attendance were Joe and Vera Hall, Willie and Jeanine Horner, Todd and Amy and Katheryn Doom. Joe and Willie are instrumental every year in helping with the Labor Day food stand and a round of applause was given. Katheryn was present to thank the Legion Auxiliary as she represented Wagner at Girls’ State. Commander Rados called the members to attention. Chaplain Don Kotab gave the invocation which was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. The Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion was recited by all members. Commander Rados then called the meeting to order.

WAGNER RAIDERS HOST CROSS COUNTRY

The Wagner Red Raiders could not have asked for a better day to host their Cross Country Meet in Pickstown, SD. It was a beautiful day for a Cross Country Meet this past Monday, September 12 and it was a great day for running. The kids showed up to race, and race, they all did! There were some very exciting finishes.
