LOOKING FOR CULTURAL PRIDE

We are looking for people in our area who feel great pride in their cultural heritage. We are looking for people who would feel it was a great honor to share that pride and information with others. We want people who understand the importance of sharing this information before it is lost to time and the generations that will follow. We are looking for people who understand the importance of sharing this information and want to be involved in helping make our community a better place to live. DEVELOPING PARTNERSHIPS TO CREATE SUCCESS

Success is created from personal interest, the caring about an idea, creativity, honest effort by those involved, proper planning, hard work, a certain amount of luck and people working together for the same positive goal in mind. In this case, the goal involves increasing cultural awareness, appreciation and acceptance for all cultures, building positive relationships and promoting community. To accomplish this goal a group of Horizons members and friends are working to create partnerships that will require active volunteerism and financial involvement, not just simple lip service to an idea. This group wants all parts of our community to work together by creating an activity that everyone will feel welcome to attend and participate in. To accomplish this financial partnerships are need to be developed with local organizations, area agencies, the Yankton Sioux Tribe, area businesses and even with individuals themselves. A request for help will involve financial partners to help make the “605 Unity J.A.M.” a big success for Wagner.

2021 TRACK AND FIELD SEASON KICKS OFF IN PARKSTON

It has been a while. While most high school athletics have been affected in some way, shape, or form by the coronavirus, probably none more so than track and field as these student athletes missed an entire season due to the pandemic. But it was time to get back at it and last Tuesday, April 6, Wagner’s tracksters loaded the bus and went to Parkston to compete for the first time in close to two years.
