GOOD LUCK AT STATE GOLF MCKENNA

The Pirate golf team ended its regular season with a home meet, the Avon/Bon Homme invitational at Bon Homme Country Club. Freshman McKenna Kocmich shot a season best 93 to capture 3rd place. Kocmich then placed 5th at the Pre-Region golf meet at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell, getting her some valuable experience on the course for the Region 4B competition. That experience paid off as Kocmich placed 4th in the Region 4B meet at Lakeview GC and earned a spot in the Class B State Golf Meet. Scott and Julie Crouse of Vermillion were visitors last Friday morning in the home of Jim and Shirley Yonkers and also visited with Todd Weber who is staying there following his back surgery. In the afternoon, Todd and Shirley drove to Mitchell where they visited their daughter and granddaughter, Nikki Weber, Jayce and Brecklynn, and Derick Gunther.

BON HOMME COUNTY DISASTER MITIGATION PLAN UPDATE

The Bon Homme County Disaster Mitigation Planning Team has just completed updating the County's disaster mitigation plan. The plan includes a profile and risk assessment of the various natural hazards that affect the county, such as blizzards, tornadoes, flooding, and droughts, and presents a disaster mitigation strategy designed to lessen the impacts of the hazards. The plan is available for public review at the Bon Homme County Emergency Management Office. Comments and suggestions regarding the plan can be sent to the Bon Homme County Emergency Management Office at bhcem@hcinet.net or by calling 605 589-4214.

WAGNER CLASS OF 2021

Wagner Community School held their commencement ceremony Saturday, May 15 at 1:30 p.m. for the Class of 2021. The school is so thankful to all the scholarship donors. The students are very fortunate to have a supportive community. Matthew S. Knudsen, Sr., 64, of Wagner died unexpectedly on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were Thursday, May 13 at the National Guard Armory in Wagner. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
