I am planning to go to Kentucky for a couple weeks in July. I am doing a volunteer mission trip with the Christian Appalachian Project (CAP). People from many denominations will be volunteering there. They do a variety of programs including home repair, early childhood education, hunger relief, and elderly services. I will be working in the kitchen, cooking three meals a day, and delivering bag lunches at noon to the construction crews. I will also be visiting older people in their homes, encouraging them, and also telling them of my faith in Christ. This area is one of the poorest in the United States. I have invited members of my church to donate SCHOOL SUPPLIES and/or SHOES for me to hand out there. I would also like to ask you to consider helping in that way also. Just give me a call and I can meet you in Avon (286-3404). A couple high school girls are getting some forms filled out to go out there with me. I feel this will be a wonderful experience for us and will open our eyes to help us realize how blessed we are.

They were throwing out lots of big medical terms but were very confused and said that they did not understand anything that they read on this MRI report. I turned to them, apologized for eavesdropping, and introduced myself as a physician. I offered to “translate” what the radiologist report said, and they gladly accepted.
