Read moreThe Lady Raiders wrapped up LMVC conference play with the ACDC Thunder last Thursday night in girls basketball action. Wagner would dominate from the tip holding a 16-6 lead after the fifirst and then coast to a 57-12 victory. The Raiders wouldn’t shoot the best from the fifield converting on 45% of their fifield goals 23-51 and only 6-11 from the charity stripe. They would hold the Thunder to 6-27 for 22% and they would go 0-4 from the line. Wagner would control the glass out rebounding the Thunder 28-13. Wagner would commit 12 turnovers compared to 23 by the Thunder. Ashlyn Koupal would lead all scorers with 29 points, 7 boards, 6 steals, and 2 assists. Peytyn Wiechmann would add 6 points offff the bench with 4 boards and 2 steals. Hannah Holzbauer and Mila Hopkins would each add 5 points. Hannah would dish out 4 assists and grab 3 boards while Mila would dish out 2 assists. Hayden Knudsen would chip in 4 points grab 5 boards, dish out 4 assists and come away with 3 steals. Braxton Nedved and Clarah Soukup would each contribute 3 points. Braxton would grab 2 boards and come away with 2 steals. Ravyn Medricky would round out the scoring with 2 points, 5 boards and dish out 3 assists. “Defensively we did a really great job. We only allowed 2 offffensive boards, and kept both of their posts scoreless. We did a nice job of running the flfloor tonight and converting. Two weeks of the regular season left and need to continue to finish strong.”

Wagner would jump out early to a 7-0 lead and post a 26-9 lead after the first quarter. Hanson would keep somewhat respectable the remainder of the half trailing 43-25 at the half. Wagner would continue to keep the gas on the offensive end finishing the game with a 71-45 victory. The Raiders would use a well balanced scoring attack. Ashlyn Koupal would lead all scorers with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 6 blocks, 5 assists and 2 steals. Hayden Knudsen would follow with 15 points and 3 boards. Hannah Holzbauer would finish with 11 points, 5 boards and 2 assists. Braxton Nedved would be the 4th Raider in double figures with 10 points, a team high 9 assists, 6 steals and 2 boards. Ravyn Medricky would put in 9 points, grab a team high 12 boards, and come away with 4 steals. Peytyn Wiechmann would round out the scoring with 2 points, 4 boards and 2 assists. Wagner would shoot 30-61 from the field for 49% while holding the Beavers to 19-51 for 37%. Wagner would out rebound Hanson 33-25. The Raiders would commit 7 turnovers to 15 from Hanson.
