Jesus Christ had Kalma Marie (Wittmeier) Koenig’s mansion ready the evening of June 2, when she fell asleep at age 96 at Laurenwood Nursing Home, Duncanville, TX. Kally was born when Calvin Coolidge was President of the United States on March 23, 1926, on a farm just west of Avon.

John Bruguier, 60, of Marty, died Friday, May 27, 2022 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 1 at the Ihanktonwan Community Center in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Oscar Bernie, 24, of Springfield, died Saturday, May 28, 2022 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, IA, the result of a motorcycle accident. Funeral services were Friday, June 3 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty.

Vert Virgil Voigt, son of E.O.F. and Katie (TerVeer) Voigt, was born September 12, 1928 on a farm near Avon. He passed away peacefully on May 25 at the age of 93 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall. Vert attended Mawhinney Country School where he completed the eighth grade.

Funeral services for Joyce O'Neal were Saturday, May 28 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Mass for Paul Soukup, 61, of Polson, MT was Saturday, May 28 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial was at St John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Mass for Marie Soukup, 90, of Wagner will be held Wednesday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m., at St John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by Rosary/ Wake services at 7 p.m.

DeLayne “Dee” Irwin, 84, of Corsica, left this life May 15, 2022, surrounded by his family at his home in Corsica. Funeral services were Saturday, May 21 at The Lighthouse Church in Wagner, Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Robert (Bob) William Breen, 93, of Wagner were held Tuesday, May 24 at Wagner Community Church in Wagner. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner, with military honors. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Brian was born July 22, 1973 in Armour the son of Larry and Eileen Schmidt. He passed away May 11 2022 at his home in Norwalk, IA. He grew up on the family farm north of Ravinia. He attended school in Lake Andes and graduated in 1992. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church.
