Avon traveled to Wagner Friday, December 29th for a double-header. The Lady Pirates played a great game against the Raiders but came up short as the final buzzer sounded 34-51. Leading the scoring attack was Courtney Sees, putting up 16 points.

The Lady Raiders hosted the Lady Pirates from Avon last Friday during Holiday Break. Avon jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but Wagner offense would catch fire mid-way through the second to hold a 17-14 lead after the first quarter.

Our first competition back after Christmas break was the Floyd Farrand Invitational at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School December 30th. The guys competed well and finished 8th as a team, placing four individuals.

The Wagner Raiders had another great defensive showing against Avon on Friday night. Wagner struggled scoring points in the first half but their defense allowed them to take a 18-13 lead into half time.

It was a fast paced game between Avon Pirates and the Colome Cowboys Thursday night and as the final buzzer sounded, Avon took the win 73-63. Landon Thury and Aziah Meyer led on the scoreboard with 22 points each.

The Avon Music Department had to change the date of their Spring Concert due to getting the gym prepped for Prom. The original date was March 21st, but it has been changed to March 18th.
