Three players from Wagner Raiders Volleyball team were named to the 2023 All-Star Volleyball Team. Kya Kjeldgaard, Macy Koupal, Madi Knebel and their coach, Stacey Knebel traveled to Harrisburg Saturday for the All-Star Game.

The 2023-2024 Avon Girls Basketball team will be guided by head coach Brad Poppe and assistant coaches, Becky Haenfler and Don Mudder. This is Coach Poppe’s 36th year of coaching and his 29th year coaching the girls’ basketball program.

Andes Central held their 2023 Fall Sports Banquet Monday, November 20th. The banquet included football, volleyball, cross-country and 2023 spring track. The evening began with Mr. Gordon Hooks giving the banquet welcome. He thanked everyone for coming, explained the order of the program.

The Wagner vol leybal l team’s season came to a close with a 7th place finish at the Class A State Volleyball tournament November 18th. With an overall record of 27-8, it was a great end to a very successful season.

The 2023-2024 girls’ basketball season is soon to be under way with their first game of the season on Friday December 8th in Winner. The girls’ basketball head coach is Mike Koupal. He is in his 16th year as head coach of Wagner’s girls’ basketball team.

Preston Nedved is in his fourth season playing football for the Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) Tigers. Preston is the son of Lindsey Nedved and Jason Kuhlman and Ross and Linda Cimpl. His grandparents are Stan and Janet Nedved, Dan and Kelly Cimpl, and Tom and Mary Jo Kuhlman.

What an amazing season these 26 young men had playing for the Avon Pirates High School Football team. With an overall record of 10-2 and Class 9B State Football Champions title, a first-year head coach and his team could not ask for a better season.

On Thursday November 9th, the Avon Pirate football team traveled to the Dakota Dome, where they faced the Faulkton Area Trojans. The Pirates were ranked number one with a record of 9-2 whereas the Trojans were ranked number two with a record of 10-1.

On November 6th the school had its Fall Concert. It began with three musical selections from the Junior high choir then three musical selections from the Junior high band. All of the songs they played were all chosen themselves. After that, was three musical selections from the high school choir.
