In the fourth quarter Paxton Beirma punched the ball 3-yards, and the Pirates two point conversion was good leaving the score 32-22. Just after that, Faulkton threw a 22-yard touchdown, but it did not count as there was an ineligible receiver downfield. This led to the Avon Pirates 6th State Champions Title. After the game there are three awards to be given out, one for most outstanding linemen, one for most outstanding back, and the Joe Robbie award. Landon Thury was awarded the most outstanding line award. “I was very shocked and surprised,” Thury said. Landon was feeling excited, nervous, and anxious before the game. Since this was Landon’s senior year, he was sad that the season was ending, but he wouldn't want it to go any other way. “It was the best feeling in the world”, Thury said after winning the game. Aziah Meyer was awarded both the most outstanding back, and Joe Robbie award. Aziah was feeling nervous, but glad that they made it that far before the game. “I was glad, surprised, and happy my hard work paid off”, Meyer said after receiving the awards. Aziah was very happy, and proud of how all the team played, and even let out some happy tears after becoming the 9B State Champs! GO PIRATES!!!!
