Wagner Hospital Auxiliary

The Wagner Community Hospital Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on October 24, 2018 at 1:30 pm with 12 members present. President Pearl W. called the meeting to order with members reading the Auxiliary Prayer. The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved as read.

ROTARY NEWS

Former President Kelsey Doom rang the bell to bring the Wagner Rotary Club to order on Wednesday October 24th. She was substituting for Jerry Weber who was probably working on his harvest crop. Kelsey graciously asked Rotarian Laurie to lead the club in prayer.

WAGNER ROTARY HOSTS CRACKER BARREL

The Wagner Rotary Club sponsored a Wagner Legislative Cracker Barrel Saturday, October 27 at Boom's with Jeff Doom as Moderator of the event. Topics of interest for those in attendance were: • Importance of agriculture to the area. • Support of small communities/area business development.

HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES PLANNED

TRICK-OR-TREAT ON MAIN STREET The 4th Annual Trick-or-Treat on Main Street will again take place Wednesday, October 31 from 3:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event starts off at the Wagner Good Samaritan Home to allow guests to trick-or-treat with residents.

$790,000 AWARDED IN COLLEGE TUITION FOR VETERANS

The Veterans of Foreign Wars has announced 172 student veterans have been chosen as 2018 fall semester recipients of the VFW’s Sport Clips Help a Hero Scholarships. Together, these student veterans will receive nearly $790,000 in college scholarships.

LIBRARY NEWS

The book sale at the library concludes on Saturday, October 27th. The library has many books needing a new home. Come and check out what is available. Money from the sale of books goes to programming at the library. Did you know that our library now has Wi-Fi?

DUSTY JOHNSON TO MAKE STOP IN WAGNER

Dusty Johnson, candidate running for the House of Representatives, will be visiting Wagner on Tuesday, October 30th. He will be touring Buche Foods from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Dusty will be giving a "stump speech" with a question and answer session from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
