Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, Feb. 25 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. This will continue to be a “drive-thru” distribution until further notice.

Week of March 7 Mike and Kris Haller of Omaha, Nebraska were weekend visitors in the home of her sister, Reta Ridgway. Joining them on Saturday were Dennis and Connie Hovorka of Tyndall.

Jim Swanson, owner of Storage by Swanson, recently finished building a nine unit Storage Facility just southeast of Avon. The whole unit is 12' x 40' wide. The door to each individual unit measures 10' wide x 14' tall. For more information, contact Jim at 402-841-7926.

March is National Nutrition Month. The library has a number of titles in the medical library collection, that can answer questions you may have about your nutrition or the nutrition of a family member. Cookbooks are also available at the library.

Community Gardens can be found across the state of South Dakota, and I dare say that probably none of them are operated in the same manner. Community Gardens are just that a garden that is organized by member of the community where they are found.

Wagner Rotary met Wednesday, March 9th in a very chilly meeting room. Someone, undiscovered yet, turned the heat off last week when they left. It was 7 degrees. Our thermostat is a new breed that is preset, and we all have had strict instructions not to touch it for any reason.

On March 2nd the Women's Missionary Fellowship of the Danzig Baptist Church presented a check in the amount of $7,200 to Laurie Jurrens, Manager of the Meadowview Manor for the bathroom update project.

The Annual Firemans Banquet was held on Saturday, January 29th at the Avon Fire Hall. Buchholz Catering served a delicious meal where firefighters and guests were present. Fire Chief, Kevin Tjeerdsma gave a summary on the 2021 year. Years of Service Awards were also presented.
