AMERICAN LEGION RIDE 605 RIDERS

The Wagner American Legion Post hosted the American Legion Ride 605 riders on Monday, June 10th. The riders were welcomed and enjoyed lunch with several Wagner American Legion members and several of Wagner’s own American Legion riders.

My first experience with cardiopulmonary resuscitation was during the summer of 1969. I was an orderly in a Minneapolis intensive care unit (ICU) when my patient stopped breathing. I called for help and provided mouth-tomouth breathing until the team arrived.

TALSMA'S ADVANCE TO RODEO FINALS

KOCMICH ENDS HIGH SCHOOL GOLF CAREER WITH 16TH PLACE IN THE STATE

Senior McKenna Kocmich finished her high school golf career at the State B Girls Golf Championship June 3rd and 4th. McKenna shot 93 day 1 and 88 day 2 for a 2 day total of 181 and a 16th place finish. Congratulations McKenna on a great state tournament and an awesome career at Avon high!

ELECTION DAY

Three (3), three year terms for school board member, were voted upon at the Andes Central School Board election held on June, 4, 2024: The candidates on the ballot were incumbents Nicole Gray, Debbra Houseman and Kristin Dvorak and challenger Kelly Tschumper.

HARRINGTON RETIRES FROM ANDES CENTRAL AFTER 30 YEARS

Harrington Retires from Andes Central After 30 Years After 30 years of working for the Andes Central School District, Beth Harrington has decided to retire. Beth was a 5th grade teacher. Overall, Beth has been a teacher for 35 years.

SVATOS PLACES 12TH AT STATE GOLF MEET

Andes Central golfer, Abigail Svatos, took home 12th place at the annual Class B State Golf Meet on June 3rd and 4th at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings. Abigail is the daughter of Ryan and Erica Svatos and the granddaughter of Dan and Martha Svatos and Al and Marcia Podzimek.

SCHOFIELD’S REBRAND AND REVAMP LOCAL MOTEL

The Circle H Motel & RV Campground has a new name and new owners. Mark and Angela Schofield officially purchased the Circle H Motel & RV Campground in January of 2024. Along with new ownership comes a rebranding of the motel.

ANDERSH RETIRES FROM WCS AFTER 41 YEARS

Kevin Andersh has decided to retire from the Wagner Community School District after 41 years. Andersh began driving school bus for WCS in the fall of 1983. He first started working for WCS when he and his wife had moved back to Wagner and he was in need of a job.
