The Circle H Motel & RV Campground has a new name and new owners. Mark and Angela Schofield officially purchased the Circle H Motel & RV Campground in January of 2024. Along with new ownership comes a rebranding of the motel. The Schofield’s decided that The Lake Andes Inn was a much better fit for the hotel. Another reason that they renamed the motel was because they felt there was a disconnect with the name and the area.
The Schofield’s purchased the Lake Andes Inn because of the small-town atmosphere and the beautiful area. Their vision for the future of the Lake Andes Inn is to help bring in more people to the area, especially to Lake Andes. The couple is planning to add additional services, but the plans are still in the works and cannot be announced yet. One future plan that the couple was willing to share was that they plan to remodel the old bait shop and turn it into a gun shop which will operate under a separate identity, Cardinal Guns.
The couple both have a love for hospitality and making people feel at home away from home. They strive to ensure that every visitor makes wonderful memories in a comfortable and inviting setting. The rooms of the Inn are currently being updated to enhance the comfort of the motel guests. Even though the Schofield’s are renovating, the motel is still open for business. They are updating room by room to ensure that guest stays will be as serene as ever, with no disruptions from the renovations.
The Lake Andes Inn will no longer offer bait services. They will still offer motel stays along with short-term and long-term RV spots.
For Mark and Angela, the best parts of being business owners are being able to be creative and meeting new people. There have been some challenges since buying the motel. One of the challenges has been finding the right contractors for their remodeling projects. There has also been the constant finding of new problems with the motel building since purchasing it. Since moving to Lake Andes, the couple has had very positive experiences meeting new people in the area. They would like to thank the community for the nice welcome that the they have received.
