The library continues to work to become organized so the materials stored there are easy to find for our patrons. If you have not been there since our open house in February you will find some changes and updates. One change is the generifying of the books in the adult section.

REGULAR MEETING OF THE WAGNER CITY COUNCIL

The Wagner City Council held their regular meeting this month on August 5th at 6 p.m. There was a lot on the agenda for this month’s meeting. After all the formalities such as roll call, the pledge of allegiance, public comments, etc.

10 Years Ago – 2014 Wagner resident, Roberta Clemens, qualified for the GROW South Dakota home improvement program and had all the windows replaced in her home. The Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Dante held their annual Dante Harvest Festival.

Wagner Chamber held their customer appreciation dinner at the Wagner Lake on a beautiful Thursday evening.They had a great turnout serving 125 people.Pork butts and buns were donated by Buches with Wagner Building Supply smoking the pork to make pulled pork sandwiches.

Rotary News

An ear-splitting ring of the Rotary Bell brought all the Rotarians to attention on Wednesday July 7th. President Jordon Weber has been practicing his swing and there was no doubt he was serious. Weber led the members in prayer giving thanks for the day and our time together as Rotarians.

ANNUAL WAGNER CANCER WALK

The Wagner Cancer Walk held its 17th annual event at the Wagner Lake this past Saturday, August 10th at 7 p.m. This year’s event had 17 cancer survivors in attendance with their friends and family as well as families and friends who had lost someone this past year to cancer.

SCHOOL IMPLEMENTING ONE-WAY STREET FOR STUDENT SAFETY

To ensure the safety of all our students during drop-off, we are going to implement a “one-way” street from 7:30 – 8:25 a.m. on school days. Please enter Pine Street from the North (Old Hwy 50 or 2nd Street).

REAL LIFE BAND OF BROTHERS

Much like the HBO miniseries, “Band of Brothers” depicting the lives of a company of soldiers and their experiences during WWII, there are five local men that grew up in the Avon area that became a band of brothers.
