Five Wagner JAG students were among the nine state winners in the South Dakota Jobs for America’s Graduates Career Development Conference (CDC) Nov. 12. In years past, these students would have qualified to attend the National Student Leadership Academy (NSLA) in Washington, D.C., in December.

2010 - 10 Years Ago A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the site of the Wagner Housing and Redevelopment Commission 4-plex town-home project. Wagner Theater to open New Year’s Eve. George Herrold received a certificate of appreciation on his retirement from SCWDD Board.

Feeding South Dakota food distribution willbe held Wednesday, December 30 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. The date has changed this month due to the Christmas holiday.

2010 - 10 Years Ago Lake Andes Fire Department provided Christmas gifts for children in the area. The Andes Central National Honor Society collected toys and clothing for Christmas presents and outdid themselves with all they collected.

In a truly grand feat of modern science, The Human Genome Project, an international collaborative effort, set out in 1990 to map our genetic makeup using diverse human genetic samples. In 2003 the project was completed, ultimately showing about 20,000 human genes.

State was the final destination for the 2020 Oral Interp season. Rather, it was the final “Virtual Destination” for this season. Yes, it has been quite the season with many unknowns. But, we as The Oral Interp Community in South Dakota, knew we would continue on.

Jody Dvorak, board member from South Central Water Development District was present to award to the City of Wagner a checkfor $67,000.00 for future engineering fees for the current water and sewer project that is ongoing in the city.

2010 - 10 Years Ago Patricia Harrington was presented her 50 Year Eastern Star Pin. Jacqueline Juffer received a superior rating and earned a trophy for her presentaation at the Mount Marty Seconds Contest.
