Patricia Harrington was presented her 50 Year Eastern Star Pin.

Jacqueline Juffer received a superior rating and earned a trophy for her presentaation at the Mount Marty Seconds Contest.

Mackenzie Stone earned first place in the SD Department of Education Year of Unity writing contest and Haley Drapeaux was awarded second place in the contest.

2000 - 20 Years Ago

Randy Pirner was among those graduating from the South Dakota State University’s fall graduation exercises.

Shawn and Dawn Smejkal announce the birth of their son, Cameron Joseph.

Kim and Lynn Soukup announce the birth of a daughter, Joanna Jean.

1990 - 30 Years Ago

Robin Bures, Rachel Bergin and Elizabeth Rezac were the winners of the 1990 coloring contest sponsored by the wagner Post/ Announcer.

Trisha Hare and Jody Zephier were named to the “B” Honor Roll at the Flandreau Indian School.

Harvey Weisser received a certificate of appreciation from LTC Glenn Schoepf for an outstanding job as Employer Support Representative for the National Guard.

Leona and Wayne Bergin celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

Mary Jean Krcil and Dave Mudder exchanged vows on December 22.

Dale E. Hall, principal at East Charles Mix School, was hired as school superintendent and will assume his duties January 1.

Dave Robertson was selected to SD Class A All State football team.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dave Becvar.

Bonnie Deal was honored at a pink and blue shower hosted by Karen Kuil and Carol Hall.

Janis Efta and Joyce Krcil were editors of the school paper, The Zoanian, and Judy Broz and Connie Rokusek were sports editors.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Keith Schroeder.

Bill Wiechmann, who was attending the University of Washington in Seattle, and John Wiechmann, who was in the Navy, stationed at Oakland, CA, came home for the holidays.

1950 - 70 Years Ago

Connie Kostel won a superior rating in poetry in the divisional declam contest.

Mrs. Henry Mundt spent the week with her daughter, Mrs. Gerhart Schamber. A new daughter, Janice Marie had arrived at the Schamber home.

Eight men with four corn pickers went to the Frank Broz farm to assist Mr. Broz with corn picking. Mr. Broz had been ill and unable to get his corn in.

Viola Andersh and Earl Davis exchanged vows.

A Ford Touring car could be purchased for $290 and a coupe for $520.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Pierre and a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Hamilton.
