Wednesday, July 21st the Wagner Rotary Club members received a pleasant surprise when they entered the meeting room. There was a fresh coat of light grey paint on the walls, the piano had been moved across the room to be under the Smart TV, and there was a new stand for our American flag.

14TH ANNUAL WAGNER CANCER WALK TO BE HELD

“ Together we unite and hope for a cure” is the theme of the 14th annual Wagner Cancer Walk.The annual Walk is back after a scaled down version last year because of the pandemic. This years Cancer Walk will be held Saturday August 7 at Wagner Lake.

CHARLES MIX 4-H JUNIOR LEADERS

The Charles Mix 4-H Junior Leaders met on Thursday, July 22nd at 6:30 p.m. After the completion of the Flag Pledges, the roll call was taken.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM

The Avon Public Library held their third session of the Summer Reading Program. Children and Parents gathered at the library on July 12th and listened to guest reader, Loretta Knodel read “Rainbow Fish” and discuss the lessons the book teaches.

ZION LUTHERAN VBS SET FOR JULY 25-27

Zion Lutheran Church (located 1 block north of the Avon School) invites the children of the community (age 4 through 6th grade) to its 2021Vacation Bible School for supper, Christ centered lessons, crafts, music, and games. “Gone Fishing” will be our theme.

FEEDING SOUTH DAKOTA

Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, July 23 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. This will continue to be a “drive-thru” distribution until further notice.

NEW HOUSE MOVING INTO AVON
