Sorry for not having an article last week. A virus hit me hard and I just did not have the energy to do that news article. Feeling better so we are back on track. Remember that the library has free Covid 19 tests that can be picked up during our regular hours.

COLORING CONTEST WINNERS

1st and 2nd graders from WCS competed in a coloring contest with the theme: Be Drug and Alcohol Free Ribbons were given to the top winners in each participating classroom. Braylyn Drapeau received 1st Place for all Second Grade entries statewide. She was given a $25 cash prize.

FEATHER CEREMONY

Wagner Community School will hold a Feather Ceremony on May 13, 2022, at 5:30 pm in the auxiliary gym. The Feather Ceremony is a symbol of hope that the students will soar toward a brighter tomorrow and rewarding future: for themselves, their community, and their tribe.

CLASS OF 2022 GRADUATION

Friday, May 13, 2022, will be a busy day for the Class of 2022. They will start the day by setting up and practicing for graduation that will be held the following day, May 14, 2022. The seniors will then take time for their last walk through the halls of Wagner Community School.

RAID ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA 2022

The 2022 Ellsworth Air & Space Show will be May 14 & 15. Leading up to the event, South Dakotans in seven locations will have a chance to see a piece of aviation history.

605 UNITY JAM COMING TO WAGNER LAKE IN JUNE

A special event known as the 606 Unity JAM will be held on Sunday, June 12 at the Wagner Lake in Wagner. The Unity JAM is a multi-cultural celebration for all area cultural groups who would like to participate in the event.

Rotary News

President Bryan Slaba called the Wagner Rotary Club to order promptly at Noon on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Rotarian Becky Brunsing introduced her guest for the day, Angie Eitemiller. Pastor/ Rotarian Bill Heermann offered a prayer of thanksgiving.
