Wagner Hospital Auxiliary

The Wagner Community Memorial Hospital - Avera Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on May 25, 2022 with eight members present. President Pearl W. called the meeting to order and members read the Auxiliary Prayer. Minutes of the April meeting were read and approved.

Rotary News

On the first Wednesday in June, President Bryan Slaba called the meeting to order. This will be the President’s last month to conduct meetings as our Rotary year ends at the end of June. Amanda Bechen introduced her guest, Amya Swett who is from Platte.

AMENDMENT C CHANGES VOTE TOTAL NEEDED FOR BALLOT ISSUES THAT RAISE TAXES BROOKINGS — Constitutional Amendment C, on the June 7 primary ballot in South Dakota, would change the number of votes needed to pass ballot issues that raise taxes and fees.

DERECHO STORM DESTROYS PARTS OF AVON

Kacie Mudder and Tristyn Wolf, graduates of SDSU in Brookings and Don and Marsha Mudder were visitors on Sunday night in the home of Jon and Lynn Stather. They enjoyed a bon fire and watching the Moon Eclipse!

GRADUATION 2022

Class Colors: Royal Blue & Silver Class Flower: White Rose Saturday May 14th Andes Central held their Graduation Ceremony for the Class of 2022. Dr. Cheryl Thaler welcomed everyone and Keeva Weddell gave the greeting. Special Recognition and Honors were presented.

BLS/CPR CLASS

Some of the Lake Andes firemen took the BLS/CPR class on Tuesday, May 10th.

BROOKINGS — Constitutional Amendment C, on the June 7 primary ballot in South Dakota, would change the number of votes needed to pass ballot issues that raise taxes and fees. The increased number of votes would also apply to ballot issues that call for the expenditure of $10 million over five years.

Library news

The Memorial Day Poster contest is still underway at the library. Bring in your completed poster before Memorial Day, May 30th to receive poppies to add to your poster and a small American flag. For more details call the library at 605 487-7524.
