President Bryan Slaba gave the Rotary Bell a solid whack to bring his last meeting to order as President of the club for 2021-2022. It was enough to make this recorder jump which delighted him. Slaba read a prayer to begin the meeting in the absence of any clergy at the meeting.

Record high prices for unleaded gasoline are getting much of the attention from the public and politicians across the country right now, but an even bigger financial impact is being felt by truckers and farmers in South Dakota who are paying far more at the pump than usual for diesel fuel.

Kevin and Charlene Tjeerdsma enjoyed watching their grandchildren, Zayden and Kinley Tjeerdsma of Sioux Falls, doing barrels and roping in the Rising Rock Rodeo in Sioux Falls on Father's Day. Tyler and Courtney Tjeerdsma helped with the Rodeo.

The Charles Mix County Lake Restoration Organization (CMCLRO) will hold a Rib Fest on Sunday, July 3rd this year at the Bull-O-Rama grounds on the southwest edge of Lake Andes. The Rib Fest is planned in conjunction with the fireworks display to be presented by the Lake Andes-Ravinia Fire District.

The Learning Camp is coming soon! The dates are Monday July 11 through Friday July 15. Several volunteers from Maryland are returning. Many Yankton Sioux and other children have attended the Learning Camp before. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided. Breakfast is served 8:30 to 9:30.

The Wagner Area Health & Wellness Consortium recently held the 2022 Best Dam Virtual 5K during the week of June 5-11. Racers could choose their own 5K route or could use the original Ft. Randall Dam route and they could complete it at any time during that week.

Once again the first Friday evening of the month is coming and that means the Menno Pioneer Opry will again have their monthly program of old time country and gospel music.
