Crisman is a Veteran of the Korean War, having been drafted in September of 1951. Crisman was drafted with Walden Eggers from the Wagner area. At the time of Crisman's draft, Marines were needed and he was chosen to become a Marine.

The Avon Fire Department Street Dance will be held on Saturday, August 27th at the Avon Fire Hall. Live entertainment provided by the band Onslaught. They will be serving supper at 5:00 p.m. The Barrel Water Fights will start at 7:00 p.m. The Dance will be from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m.
