AHS VETERAN'S DAY PR OGRAM

The Avon High School (AHS) held their annual Veteran’s Day Program Wednesday, November 8, at 2:45 p.m. The program began with the posting of the colors by Megan Gretschmann and Kate Swier.

FEEDING SOUTH DAKOTA

Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Wednesday, November 29 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. The date is changed due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

SWEET CLOVER 4-H NEWS

The Sweet Clover 4-H club met on Nov 5, 2023 at 6pm. The Dustin Brandt family hosted. Treasure Carmindy Ferwerda called the meeting to order. Flag Pledges were led by Cowan Wolf. Roll call topic was "What's your favorite candy?" & 7 members were present.

ANDES CENTRAL STUDENTS ATTEND 96TH NATIONAL FFA CONVENTION

Andes Central students traveled by bus to the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana last week. Cole Bergin, Abigail Svatos, Riata Bultje, Emery Bultje, and their Advisor Mr. DeNeui, attended sessions, visited with businesses and colleges at the expo.

ANDES CENTRAL SENIOR SPOTLIGHT ANAIAS WHITE EYES

This week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Anaias White Eyes. Anaias is the son of Natanee Patterson. During his high school years at Andes Central, Anaias has been involved in basketball, golf and the Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program.

LAKE ANDES HEALTH CARE CENTER VETERAN’S DAY

The Lake Andes Health Care Center celebrated Veteran’s Day on Friday, November 10th. The Andes Central Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) students honored the Veterans residing at the Lake Andes Health Care Center by presenting them with Veteran’s Day Baskets.

CHRISTMAS EVENTS

December 1st (Friday) has been set as the date for the annual Christmas Parade and Customer Appreciation Day in Lake Andes. Start now to plan a parade entry! “Christmas” is the theme this year for parade entries. Customer appreciation can be handled by each individual business and as they choose.

LIBRARY NEWS

The library move of major materials is complete. The work of sorting, shelving, displaying and enjoying the new site is in the works. The library sign at 17 Park Ave. went up on the 9th and we opened for limited services on November 8th.
