After a memorable and history making Boys & Girls Club Super Bowl 20, our spring football season has come to a close. We cannot express enough gratitude to our volunteer coaches. We are thankful and appreciative for all of the time and dedication they put into our program. They make a huge impact on our youth and always have a positive attitude. To all of our players: you all had a GREAT season. The future is unbelievabley bright and we look forward to seeing you all play and grow together. Read moreAvon teeners scored 9 runs but came up short in a preseason game in Freeman Friday night. Leading hitters were Tyler Tjeerdsma with a single, double and two runs scored, Paxton Bierema with a double and two runs scored, Devin Rucktaeschel and Trevor Eggers each had a single, Alshamon Meyer scored two runs. Five pitchers toed the slab including Ty-ler T, Devin R, Paxton B, Aziah Meyer, and Trevor E. Jaydon Drieson and Landon Mudder did the catching. Tyler Tjeerdsma made the defensive play of the game on a long fly ball to left center.
Read moreThe Pirate golf team ended its regular season with a home meet, the Avon/Bon Homme invitational at Bon Homme Country Club. Freshman McKenna Kocmich shot a season best 93 to capture 3rd place. Kocmich then placed 5th at the Pre-Region golf meet at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell, getting her some valuable experience on the course for the Region 4B competition. That experience paid off as Kocmich placed 4th in the Region 4B meet at Lakeview GC and earned a spot in the Class B State Golf Meet.
