The Avon School District will welcome a new K- 5th grade special education teacher for the 2024-2025 school year, Ashley Cihak. Ashley has been teaching for the past 14 years. Her entire teaching career until this year has been with the Wagner Community School District. Six of her last 14 years were in Elementary Special Education, with the last eight years teaching second grade.

Read moreThe 2024 Lake Andes Public Library Incentive trip is in the books. On Thursday, August 1st at 8:30 am, a bus rented from BJ School bus left the library with 18 children and 7 chaperones headed to Yankton. Our first stop was the Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery, where we toured the Aquarium and then enjoyed a presentation by Sam Stukel, a Fish Hatchery employee. The tour of the trout feeding station was a favorite as we got to feed the fish.
