WAGNER C TEAM LOSES TO PARKSTON

The Red Raider C team played their first game of the season Thursday night at home against Parkston. The Red Raiders were behind 14-6 after the first period and 26-16 at half time. Parkston continued to pull away in the second half winning the game over Wagner 55-35. Braxton Knudsen led the team with 12 points, Brady Cournoyer added 10, Deshawn Sully 5, Gabe Houseman4, Parker Petry 2 and Christian Doom 2.

WAGNER FALLS TO GREGORY

The Red Raiders traveled to Gregory on Tuesday night to take on the Gorillas. Wagner fell behind 22-18 after the first period and trailed 36-33 at half time. The Red Radiers took a 50-47 lead into the foruth quarter but lost the game by a final score of 56-55. Toby Zephier led the way for Wagner with 20 points and 8 rebounds. Dustin Honomichl added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Nelson scored 8 points and had 4 assists, Preston McFayden scored 5 points, Ted Slaba 3 and Camden Roth 2. Camden Roth defended one of the best players in class B basketball and held him to 6 points. The Red Raiders made 8 three pointers and made 5 of 8 free throws. Wagner got out rebounded 32-37

WAGNER JV DEFEATS GREGORY

The Wagner JV boys had a 18-7 lead after the first period against Gregory and led 18-10 at half time. Wagner struggled to score in the second half but played good enough defense to hold for a 26-23 win. Preston McFayden scored 12 points, Ted Slaba added 8 and Joey Cournoyer scored 6. The JV boys record is now 4-2.

FIRE FIGHTERS BATTLE GRASS FIRE WITH SUB-ZERO WINDCHILL

This week we would like to give a shout out to the local volunteer firemen. No matter the time or the weather, when the whistle blows they move into action to protect their district. The Lake Andes fire department has already been busy in the first couple weeks of the new year. They responded to a grass fire Southeast of Lake Andes on January 5th, with below zero wind chill.
