As a general internist who does primary care for adult and elderly patients, I talk to patients a lot about arthritis and joint replacement surgery. This type of surgery, also known as arthroplasty, is one of the most common types of elective surgery done in the United States. Knees, hips, and shoulders are the most frequently done arthroplasties, and most of those surgeries are done for severe osteoarthritis.

We were fortunate that the sidewalks and roads on Main Street were cleared for traffic after the big snowstorm that dumped on our community the past Monday.

Read moreThe Wagner American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Greer Unit #11 has selected their representative to attend this year’s Girl’s State. Girl’s State will be held the week of June 3rd – June 8th at University of South Dakota in Vermillion. This is the 77th year for the annual event. Girl’s State is a part of the ALAs summer leadership and citizenship programs. The event is open to junior girls going into their senior year. The goal of this event is to open young women’s minds and eyes to the mechanics of the American government and politics for education and for potential future careers in those fields.

This play, written by Sandy Rustin, is based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for kids. Wagner students get in for free.
