At the end of the first quarter Avon found themselves down 12-22, but came back in the 2nd quarter to add 8 to the scoreboard. ThethirdquarterendedscorelessforthePirates,butCorsica-Stickney ran in a touchdown. The fourth quarter, both teams ran in a touchdown, but as the final buzzer sounded the Pirates found themselves down 28-34 to take the loss.
Read moreSeptember is National Library Card Month. The library is hoping for a successful drive to double the amount of library cards that the library has now which is 318 card holders. During the week of September 19 the library plans to present a healthy snack to the elementary classroom at Andes Central who has the most library card holders. Remember there is no charge to register for a library card. Students and teachers at Andes Central qualify, even if you don’t live in the district. Parents/Guardians who have children enrolled at Andes Central also qualify. If you live outside the city limits and do not have children enrolled at Andes Central there is a one time $10 charge for a library card. Adults need to bring a form of ID to sign up for a library card.
