A thunderstorm moved in Saturday evening bringing heavy rainfalls with reports received of up to 2.8 inches. With all the rain recived in the area water levels quickly rose at Wagner Lake and the rural area had several fields with standing water which will delay farmers who haven't planted their crops yet. For the past 15-20 years, the pursuit of non-indigenous game from other parts of the world has played a significant part in my life as a hunter. Yours too in all probability. After all, our ringneck pheasant came to us from China. Our Hungarian partridge come from Europe. We probably think of the brown trout that reproduce naturally in Rapid Creek as our own even though their roots are in Germany.
