This summer I attended the celebration of life service for Dr. Rick Holm, the original Prairie Doc who founded this newspaper column, a radio show and a television show now entering its twentieth season. He died from pancreatic cancer in March of 2020 during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic and thus there was no public service at the time.

August 18th found the Rotary Building a little quiet as we were missing several members due to business commitments and end of the summer obligations. Pastor Laurie offered up a prayer for all to receive the Holy Spirit to help us go about our daily lives and our business as Rotary members in the community.

The result has been donation of 986,150 pounds of game meat since SDSAH inception, or near the milestone of 1,000,000 pounds.

Matt Link (3rd baseman and short-shop) and Carter Cournoyer (pitcher) participated in the SD VFW Baseball Class A All Stars. They began their play in the Showcase August 15th were they were able to pitch in front of college coaches. The games followed where Cournoyer was the starting pitcher. Congratulations athletes!!!
