Birth annoucements

The Carlson family would like to announce the birth of their son, Oliver Nedved. Oliver arrived on June 10, 2021; weighing 7lbs and 21 in long. He was welcomed by big sister Aurora, big brother Elijah and parents Stephanie and Adam Carlson of Rockton, IL. WAGNER’S FINAL STOP ON 5 GAME ROAD TRIP

The Lady Raiders traveled to Gregory last Tuesday night in girls’ basketball action to complete their 5 game road trip. The Raiders would start out to a 5-0 lead and hold that margin after the first with a 14-9 lead. Gregory would play tough in the second quarter taking a 19-18 lead late in the second, but Wagner would finish the quarter on a 8-2 run to take a 26-21 lead into half. Wanger’s defense would stifle the Gorillas in the second half as the Raiders would out score them 27-11 and finish the game with a 53-32 victory. Wagner was led by a well-balanced scoring attack. Macy Koupal led all scorers with 11 points, while grabbing 8 boards, dishing out a team high 4 assists, and coming away with 2 steals. Shalayne Nagel would follow that up with 9 points, a team high 11 boards, 2 assists, and a team high 3 steals. Eve Zephier would add 9 points and grab 3 boards. Ashlyn Koupal would also net 9 points, grab 4 boards, and dish out 2 assists. Emma Yost would finish with 8 points and 4 boards. Lydia Yost would add 5 points and 7 boards off the bench. Jessica Kocer would round out the scoring with 2 points. Wagner would shoot 19-55 for 35% from the floor compared to jus 13-52 for 25% for the Gorillas. Wagner would own the glass with a 40-29 advantage. The Raiders would hit 8-9 from the line while Gregory would go 5-12. “Defensively we switched things up again by starting man and were giving easy looks. In zone we were very active and contested most of their shots. Offensively we started a bit slow and once we got some ball movement we created some open looks from the perimeter and knocked down those shots. We still need to do a better job of attacking.”
