SOCIOLOGY CLASS DROPS EGGS; LEARNS SOCIAL STRATIFICATION

Sociology class participated in an activity to better understand social stratification and the social classes. The students were divided into three classes: the upper class, the middle class, and the poverty class. Each group was given an egg and an amount of money to buy protection for their egg. Their buying power symbolized the different opportunities and what different social classes can afford for their children.

STUDENTS COMPETE IN STATE ARCHERY

On Friday April 1, the Avon Archers attended State Archery in Spearfish. The twelve students who attended were Bree Vanderlei, Jackie Lane, Lexi Vanderlei, Dominic Luff, Easton Sees, Trenton Soukup, Hoyt Brandt, Cody Soukup, Jake Namminga, Noah Watchorn, Parker Podzimek, and Caleb Tallman along with coaches Chuck Zacharias and Troy Soukup. Noah Watchorn finished fourth, missing third by one point.

AVON SCHOOL DISTRICT KINDERGARTEN 2022-2023 FALL ENROLLMENT ROUND-UP

The Avon School District is planning a Kindergarten Roundup on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 10:00 am for parents and their children who will be attending kindergarten this fall. ALL PARENTS AND CHILDREN MUST SIGN-IN AT THE OFFICE. The program will be in the present kindergarten room for the children and the parents will meet in the board room. Lunch will be provided for everyone at 11:00 am. After lunch everyone will be free to leave. Please contact the school at 286-3291 extension 114 with a lunch count by Monday morning, May 16.
