Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, June 24 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. This will continue to be a “drive-thru” distribution until further notice.

They had a huge turnout with 58 young children and 20 older kids and adults. Mary Lukkes was the guest reader. Read moreAvon’s 18U softball team traveled to Scotland on Sunday, June 5 for a doubleheader as part of Scotland Sports Day. In game one Avon unleashed the bats for 11 hits scoring runs in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th innings. Avon was led by Lydia Yost with 3 hits – including a double and 2 RBI. Katie Gretschmann, Sam Brodeen, and Reece Loewe each had 2 hits; with Brodeen and Loewe both having a double and 3 RBI. Emma Yost had a hit and a RBI and Kinley Doom singled in the game. Lydia Yost pitched for Avon, struck out 8, walked 2, and got the win.
