If you are a senior citizen in the Wagner area, enjoy pot luck suppers and playing bingo, make plans to come to the Parkview Villa Apartments on Sunday, February 19 at 5:30 for a great time! If all of this is true, but you do not have anything or any way to bring something to share during the meal, then just come anyway as it is great to get out and socialize for a couple of hours. The supper and bingo will be held in the “Community Room” at Parkview. Bring a friend with you, realizing they might get bingo more than you, but it is all in good fun! There is no cost for playing! The evening will consist of a “who knows what is for supper menu”, some great conversation, followed by several great games of bingo. Make plans now to attend and if you don’t drive any more then be certain to plan on who might bring you so you can attend.

Funeral services for Zona Robsahm, 93, of Sioux Falls were held Friday, February 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Avon. Burial was in the Trinity Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Avon. Peters Funeral Chapel in Avon was in charge of arrangements.

HB 1169 is an act to authorize the performance and reporting of medical procedures to avert the death or physical impairment of a pregnant female and to declare an emergency. This bill was tabled in House Health and Human Services. Representative Rehfeldt, Senator Davis, and I worked with Right to Life on this bill to clarify what life and health of the mother meant. Doctors taking care of women during pregnancy need to understand how they can legally take care of pregnant women and their baby, when things take a turn for the worse. This was language that has been law for 30 years, before the trigger law. Right to life and other supporters backed out on us at the 11th hour and without time to educate legislators on this, we were forced to table the bill. This will be back next session because it is a pro-life bill.
