Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, Aug. 25 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon.

COMMUNITY VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL HELD

The Avon Community VBS was held July 31 through August 4th at the Avon City Park from 9 a.m. to noon. There were 47 students registered the first day with the theme being, “Keepers of the Kingdom.” Each day the children were taught about the Middle Ages and the Good ( God’s ) Kingdom or the Bad (Satan’s) Kingdom. King Aaron (Rush) and Lord Hayden (Talsma) did askitintroducingGod’sArmor for the opening each morning. Lord Hayden was dressed in the full suit of Armor of God on Friday, as he had followed the Code of Conduct all week and was now prepared to be a knight in God’s Army.

Leona Ann Bruner, 93, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, August 9 at Edgewood Mitchell Memory Care Center from Alzheimers Disease. Funeral mass was Monday, August 14 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Geddes. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.
