AVON SOFTBALL AWARDED THE GARY PEPPER COMBINED OVERALL AWARD FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW

Avon softball concluded the 2024 season by winning the Gary Pepper Combined OverallAwardforthesecond consecutive year. The Gary Pepper Award is named in honor of longtime Scotland resident and athletic booster Gary Pepper who passed away this spring. Gary was instrumental in organizing the Little Missouri Valley Softball League during its inception. The award takes into consideration regular season finish, postseason finish, and sportsmanship in all three age divisions: 10U, 14U and 18U. Teams from 15 different towns competed in the LMVL this summer. This seasonAvonfinishedasrunner- up in 10U, runner-up in 14U and champions in 18U.

SCHOOL IMPLEMENTING ONE-WAY STREET FOR STUDENT SAFETY

To ensure the safety of all our students during drop-off, we are going to implement a “one-way” street from 7:30 – 8:25 a.m. on school days. Please enter Pine Street from the North (Old Hwy 50 or 2nd Street). Drive South to the front of the school where your child can be dropped off by the main entrance. As you leave Pine Street on the south end, you can go straight, or turn east or west to leave the school. High school students will enter from the North and turn into the parking lot. If they have younger students with them, they will all walk from the parking lot.
