President Elect Jordan Weber welcomed everyone to Wagner Rotary’s May 15th meeting. There was one guest present, Dana Sanderson, who spoke briefly about the upcoming 605 Unity Jam. The event is a Jamboree of Art and Music, a multi-cultural celebration. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at our beautiful Wagner Lake. Admission is free. Come and relax by the lake. Enjoy Unity Buffalo Art which is a unique creation by former Wagner art students. This event has drawn the attention of our South Dakota magazine as well as our state television stations. The Wagner Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee spent last Thursday morning planting flowers around the city. The committee members enjoyed the beautiful weather as they filled the pots with flowers.

ROLAND H. JURGENS, III

Memorial services for Roland H. Jurgens, III, 55, of Ortonville, MN, will be held Saturday, June 8 at 12:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the home of Roland and Connie. Roland passed away May 7, 2024 at Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Avon 2 - Gayville/Volin 16 Avon Varsity pirates had trouble keeping up with Gayville Volin in a 16-2 loss on Monday. Gayville scored 5 in the first and then three in the top of the second. Avon pulled closeronaninsidetheparkHR by Rilyn Thury. That ended the scoring threat for Avon. Kaydence Metzger and Macy Voigt were on the hill for the Lady Pirates. Thury and Macy Voigt each collected two hits with Thury collecting both RBI’s.
