EVERY CHILD HAS A CHANCE - IT’S YOU!

“CASA volunteers serve as voices for children in court, and other settings, to give them a chance at finding permanent and stable homes,” said Jackie Horton, executive director for the First Circuit CASA program. “The effect CASA volunteers have on children’s lives during an uncertain time is significant. With 61 children in the area needing a volunteer to advocate for their safety and future, there is a great opportunity for ordinary citizens to have a positive impact on children’s lives. We desperately need more volunteers to serve our most vulnerable children.”

FITNESS BUILDING UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP

After a three year process, a local Main Street business has new owners. Joe and Kayla Cuka have recently purchased Wagner’s Fitness Building from previous owner John Foster. The couple plans on renaming/rebranding the business, calling it Iron Kingdom Wellness.

COLORADO WOLVES? THE VOTERS WILL PROBABLY DECIDE.

As much as I believe in our democratic process and our right to vote, there’s one place, in my opinion, where we must stay out of it. I’m talking about wildlife management. These decisions must be left up to the wildlife biologists. The general public is not well enough informed to make these decisions. Unfortunately, there are times when even these so called experts in the field seem to stray from common sense, although politics seems to somehow get involved.

WAGNER TAKES ON PLATTE/GEDDES

Wagner played a very good Platte-Geddes team on Friday night to close out their home games this season. Wagner had trouble scoring points all night and could not keep pace with the Black Panthers. Nolan Carda led the team with 9 points and he also grabbed 5 rebounds. Jayden Aungie hit two 3 pointers late in the game to finish with 6, Toby Zephier scored 3 and Jaden Peters 2.

WAGNER TRAVELS TO BURKE

The Red Raiders traveled to Burke on Thursday night to play the Burke Cougars. Wagner fell behind early but battled back in the second quarter to make the half time score 15-23. Wagner and Burke traded baskets most of the second half, the game remained fairly close but the Red Raiders could never take the lead and ended up falling 43-58. Dustin Honomichl scored 20 points for Wagner, Nolan Carda scored 8 points and had 11 rebounds. Toby Zephier added 5 points, Greg St. Pierre 4, Chris Nelson, Jaden Peters and Simon Freier all scored 2 points each.
