Winners of the Fire Department Race Calcutta were: 1st - Delmont Fire Department (buyer Dwight Brenner), 2nd - Wagner Fire Department (buyer Gregg Link) and 3rd - Bonesteel Fire Department (buyer Dan Cimpl) . Winners of the Class "A" feature were: 1st - Kyle Moose of Fairfax, 2nd - Nathan Timmerman of Lennox and 3rd - Brady Petrik of Avon . The 120th Labor Day Parade was held on a cool Monday morning. The theme for this year's parade was "Family Traditions" with Honorary Parade Marshals Mary Jo Kuhlman and Wayne Scherr.

The Wagner Volleyball team chalked up its second win against a scrappy Chamberlain team 3-1 (25-20, 25-16, 23-25, and 25-23) on Thursday night. Abby Brunsing led the offense with 21 kills followed by Shona Kocer with 9. Brunsing served aggressively with 16 points and 5 aces on the night while Kya Kjedgaard added 11 points and 2 aces. Up at the net Brunsing and Kocer each earned a block against the Cubs. In the back-court libero Olivia Breen dug up 12 balls and Paige Petry added 10 of her own. Petry fed her attackers with 21 assists and Macy Koupal dished out 17 in the win.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian Thunder hosted the Bon Homme Cavaliers Tuesday in Lake Andes. The Lady Cavaliers proved to be a tough match up as they took the win 3-1.
