Mrs. Ethel Cooper, Ms. Mataya Larsgaard and Mrs. Raja Brandt directed the elementaryoperetta Bring on the Snow! on December 1 in the main gym. Preschool sang “I’m a LittleSanta,”"Ring the Bells,” and We Wish You a Merry Christmas.” Fifth grade band performed “Merrily We Roll Along,” “Good King Wenceslas,” and “Jolly Old St. Nicholas.” Kindergarten did “Blitzen Boogie,” and firstand second grade sang “Someone’s in the Chimney,” and “Merry Christmas to You from the Red, White, and Blue.” The show ended with third through sixth grade singing “Bring on the Snow!” “Ready, Set, Snow,” “Over the River,” “Game Show Music,” “HOT Chocolate!” “Angels in the Snow,” “Blizzard on the Way!” and “Bring on the Snow!”

Because I care and write about our great outdoors, I’m interested in the world around us. As global warming/climate change was a part of the Democrat party’s platform, we’re now going to hear a lot about it. After reading Michael Shellenberger’s Apocalypse Never, I feel that some of the hype needs to be set straight.

The Great Plains were homesteaded by men and women with a strong yearning for freedom and liberty – seeking an opportunity for their hard work and resourcefulness to cultivate enough prosperity to provide for their families, build some savings, and see the next generation do a little better than themselves. Many who followed in their footsteps and made South Dakota home, like my grandparents, were immigrants who sought the same freedom and opportunity. Enriched by the indigenous heritage of the state, these timeless ideals remain woven in the fabric of our communities to this day and continue to make our state a special place to live, work, raise families, and worship.

For the fourth year, an anonymous volunteer provided money to feed the community. Due to COVID this year the group of volunteers met at the Wagner Boys & Girls Club to pack up and deliver boxes of food so people could gather safely and cook their Thanksgiving meals at home. It has been a crazy-busy year with lots of practices and lots of recordings. But, all of these practices and recordings have finally come to fruition. Many members of the Wagner Oral Interp Team are advancing to the 2020 Oral Interp State Festival. The State Festival is the end goal for all of the Oral Interp Students and for many, after the region contest, the state festival is finally a reality.
