Don Clair Hawley passed away peacefully at Mt. St. Francis Nursing Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado surrounded by his family. Don was born and raised in Armour along with three sisters: Wanda (Andy), Pat (Merle), Donna (Hick); and two brothers: Warren and Wendell (Jeanette).

Joseph L. Novak was born on the Novak farm, north of Ravinia on March 19, 1919, to Sophia Pesicka (Novak) and Joseph Novak Sr. He was the only sibling. He grew up and worked on the family farm and attended the Ravinia school for 11 1/2 years.

Funeral services for Marjorie Anderson, 95, of Wagner, will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 29 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial is in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lake Andes. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Private services for Danelda VanDuysen,84,of Wagnerwere held Saturday, December 17 at PetersFuneralHomeinWagner. Burial was in the Friedensberg Cemetery, rural Avon. Danelda B. Van Duysen was born November 3, 1938 at Tripp, the daughter of Edward and Cristina (Mudder) Lippert.

Evelyn Christine Soukup passedawayonDecember11, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Home of Tyndall. Eve was 104 and two-thirds years old. A Memorial Mass was held December 17 at St. Leo Catholic Church in Tyndall. Interment will take place at a later date, in the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery.

Douglas Dale Laib, 65, went to his heavenly home Monday, December 12 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. There will be a private, family committal service will take place in the spring. Douglas Dale Laib was born February 13, 1957 to Roland and Rosemary (Faller) Laib in Parkston, SD.

Funeral Mass for Erin Schroeder will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 21, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Ellen Wepking, 96, of Avon, and formerly of Huron and Sioux Falls, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall. A Celebration of Life Service was held Saturday, December 10 at the FirstPresbyterianChurchin AvonwithPastorLorneyVan Gerpen officiating.
