This year was the first year that Andes Central/Dakota Christian participated in the javelin track and field event. The javelin throw became a sanctioned event for South Dakota high school track and field in 2022.
Twelve athletes from Wagner’s track and field teams made their way to Sioux Falls this past week to compete in the state meet at Howard Wood Field.
At many track meets this past year Wagner would usually (though not always) have a champion in the 300 hurdles and a champion in the high jump.
The Class A State Track Meet was held from Thursday, May 23rd through Saturday, May 25th in Sioux Falls at the Howard Wood Field. This was the 119th year that this annual 3-day event was held. Eleven athletes from the Wagner Community School qualified for the Class A State Track Meet.
Mahli Abdouch, a senior for the Sioux Falls O’Gorman Knights, dominated the South Dakota girls’ basketball scene this 2023-2024 season. Mahli is the daughter of 1998 Wagner Community School graduate, Matthew Abdouch and his wife, Tasha.
AC/DC Thunder Golf team traveled to Mitchell for Pre-Region Golf, where Abigail took home 1st place Friday, May 17th! Wednesday, May 22nd, the golf team went back to Mitchell for Region Golf, where Abigail placed 4th and Danica placed 12th.
Youth from the Charles Mix County Shooting Sports program qualified for State Shoot. They traveled to Ft. Pierre April 26-28. Charles Mix County was well represented, as there were many awards received.
