Courtney Sees received her 1000th career dig, at the Great Plains Conference Tournament in Lake Andes on Sep 30, 2023. When we asked Courtney how she felt after achieving this goal, she stated, “I was super happy I was able to achieve it with the help of my coaches and teammates.
ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS

PIRATES DEFEAT WOLSEY-WESSINGTON 22-14 TO ADVANCE TO PLAYOFFS

To advance to the playoffs Avon had a big win Friday, October 13 over Wolsey-Wessington 22-14. The first quarter found both teams scoreless on the board. The Pirates allowed their opponent to scoreinthesecondquarterbutstoppedthetwo-point conversion attempt to end the first half down 0-6.

AVON TO HOST FAITH THURSDAY TO BEGIN PLAYOFFS

State 9B First Round Playoffs begin Thursday, October 19 as Avon (6-2) will host Faith (1-7) with kick off at 5:30 p.m. Come on out and let's support the Avon Pirates as they've been working hard all season and they would love to see a great crowd come out and cheer them on! Good Luck Pirates!!!!!

AC/DC AT ETHAN/ PARKSTON INVITE

On October 11, four AC/DC runners participated in the Region 3 XC meet at Burke. Eilie DeHaan finish 8th with a time of 22:30.67 to qualify for the state meet. Kora Backes finished 28th with a time of 26:21.48, Renner DeHaan finished 38th with a time of 23:40.

AC/DC WINS THE THUNDER NATION TOURNAMENT

AC/DC won the Thunder Nation Tournament on Saturday October 14. In the Pool C vs Crow Creek AC/DC won 25-12, 25-12, then they defeated Colome, 25-11, 25-16; and Lakota Tech 27-25, 25-14 AC/DC got 2 seed and a Bye in the first round of the Tournament play.

On Tuesday, October 10th AC/ DC fell to Burke in three sets on their home court.

On Friday, Oct 13, the Tripp-Delmont/ Armour/AndesCentral/Dakota Christian Varsity Boys Football team won their Andes Central Homecoming game against Miller/ Highmore/Harrold High School by a score of 44-14. No coaches report available at time of print.
