Hunter Loeffler This week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Hunter Loeffler. Hunter is the son of Tootie and Chad Loeffler. Hunter has one sibling, Ruger. During his high school years, Hunter has been involved in football, basketball, track, baseball, JAG and FFA.

Veteran of the Month: Dennis Rucker

DennisRuckerisbeinghonored as Lake Andes’ March Veteran of the Month. Not only is Rucker a Vietnam War Veteran, but he also served during Operation Desert Storm. Rucker enlisted in the Army on January 30, 1969 when he was 18 years old.

MISSOURI VALLEY REGIONAL SPELLING BEE

There are six schools that are a part of the Missouri Valley Regional Spelling Bee including Andes Central, Burke, Dakota Christian, Gregory, Platte-Geddes and South Central. Every year the regional spelling bee is held at a different school’s location.

Well, we’re in the home stretch as they say, with two weeks left in the Session and most of the work behind us. We still have the budget to finalize but talking to our Appropriators it sounds like things are coming together and we should be able to pass a balanced budget by the end of Session.

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS

The American Legion Auxiliary held their annual Americanism Essay and Poetry Contests this year. The Americanism Essay’s theme was “What America the Beautiful Means to Me” and the Americanism poetry contest was “Honor Our Heros”.
