Five Wagner Jobs for America’s (JAG) students recently represented South Dakota at the JAG National Student Leadership Academy in Washington, D.C., December 3-8, 2019, with Payton Mora, senior, earning second place of 200 students in the employability skills event at the national level.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation is reminding the public and commercial snow removal operators that it is illegal to place or dump excess snow on highway right of way, which includes driving surfaces, shoulders and ditches.

Just Thought I'd Ask

When we look back over last year our minds bring us to remember huge fires on the West Coast, many homes burned to the ground, trees burned. And then mud slides from heavy rains. and in the mid-West there were terrible storms, high winds, tornadoes with much damage.

Happy New Year from the South Dakota Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Services. I’m Manager Lyngstad please make a resolution to wear your seatbelt if you’re in the front seat and also wear it if you’re in the backseat as well. Most people who die in traffic crashes aren’t wearing their seatbelts.

As 2019 comes to a close, I’ve had time to reflect on the past year. As a state, we celebrated the commissioning of the USS South Dakota, a Virginia-class nuclear submarine designed to fulfill 21st century mission requirements.
