PIRATE PREP, LLC NOW OPEN

The Avon Community welcomes a new State Registered Daycare Center to it's residents. Pirate Prep, LLC opened it's door on January 3 rd . The business is located in the old Ferrel Gas building now owned by Wyatt and Amanda Beeson.

GOD BLESS THE 235TH MPC

On January 5th, I joined several state and local officials for a deployment ceremony honoring the 235th Military Policy Company. The unit from the South Dakota National Guard is heading to Guantanamo Bay for a challenging operational mission.

Earlier this week, the White House held a roundtable to discuss the meat and poultry supply chain. Farmers, ranchers, and independent processors from across the country shared their experience and expertise with this Administration.

HANSON GIRLS CORN PALACE CLASSIC JANUARY 15TH

The 39th Annual Hanson Girls Corn Palace Classic will be held Saturday, January 15th. Come on out and cheer on the Thunder Ladies! The game times are approximate. Games will start 15 minutes following the completion of the previous game.

WAGNER TRAVELS TO BON HOMME WHERE YOST SCORES 1000TH POINT

The Wagner girls traveled to Tyndall to take on the Bon Homme Cavaliers in girls basketball action. Wagner started out fast and never looked back taking a 14-5 lead after the first on this memorable night. Wagner would then out score Bon Homme 20-3 in the second enroute to a 59-24 victory.

WAGNER PINK LADIES "QUEEN OF HEARTS" FUNDRAISER

The Wagner Pink Ladies are holding a "Queen of the Hearts" fundraiser at Dogger's every Thursday night. Tickets are on sale from 5-7 p.m., with the drawing held at 7:15 p.m. and players must be present to win! The winning ticket is drawn each week and wins ten percent of that week's total sales.

2021 Year In Review

January • Twenty two members of both the Wagner and Dante Fire Departments were re-certified in CPR. • Disabled Veterans and Disabled persons will see new license plate design in 2021. February • Five Wagner Wrestlers advanced to state Wrestling, Jhett Breen earning second place.

Rotary News

The December 22nd Wagner Rotary began its meeting with a loud bell ring and a cheery “Merry Christmas” from its President Bryan Slaba. Rotarian Laurie Kidd began with a prayer of Thanksgiving for our fine meal and the hands that prepared it.
