SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION WEEK

National School Board recognition week is February 20th -24th. It is a time when the community, Andes Central school staff and parents can take the time to thank the members of the Andes Central School Board for their time and dedication to make the school a better place.

In South Dakota, we respect the Freedom to Work. That is what America was built on. We each have the Freedom to get up every morning and to provide for ourselves and our families. That’s the American Dream.

“No man is an island, entire of itself, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” This is the beginning of a poem from 1624. In it, the poet John Donne appreciates how humans are all connected. Indeed, humans are social beings, and social connection is a factor in our health.

LEGION AUXILIARY TO MEET

Avon American Legion Auxiliary Unit 150 will meet Tuesday, February 20th, at 7 p.m. at Avon Public Library. Hostess is Katie Gretschmann.

FEEDING SOUTH DAKOTA DISTRIBUTION

Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Friday, Feb. 23 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon.

Is your child interested in 4-H, but you aren’t sure what the program all entails? The Bon Homme County 4-H Jr LeaderswillbehostingFamily Fun Night at the 4-H Center in Tyndall (1910 Birch St.) on Monday, February 19th at 6:30 pm.
